Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are sitting in the orchestra pit as a toddler, watching my dad create and conduct Scouts in Kirrawee Gang Show. Those moments sparked something in me—a fascination with the way music brings people together. Growing up, music was everywhere. I sang every day at school and formed lifelong friendships through my high school Rock’n’Roll band. These experiences showed me how music can shape relationships and create memories that last a lifetime.  Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredible musicians—on stage, in recording studios, and even in TV. But more than performing, I found my true calling in teaching. At seventeen, I began sharing my love of music with others, and it quickly became an essential part of who I am. I’ve always believed that teaching isn’t just about imparting skills; it’s about connecting with people, helping them find their voice, and showing them how music can enrich their lives.  This passion for teaching led me to create the Band Together Foundation. I wanted to address something I’d seen time and again—the lack of access to quality music education for many public school students. Music should be for everyone, not just those who can afford private lessons or attend well-funded schools. Through the foundation, we aim to provide these opportunities and, in doing so, help create educated listeners who will one day become the future audiences for the arts in Australia.  Music has given me so much in my life, and I feel privileged to share that gift with others. Through the Band Together Foundation, I hope to continue inspiring young people, supporting their musical journeys, and building a more vibrant future for the arts in our country.

Music has always been a central part of my life. Growing up as a shy and reserved only child, music became my closest companion, offering comfort and belonging when I needed it most.  This deep connection inspired me to create the Band Together Foundation, where we aim to share the transformative power of music with children who feel isolated or disconnected. Through our programs, we empower young people to find their voices, build confidence and experience the joy of community through music.  Music has the unique ability to bring people together, fostering growth, connection and joy. With the Band Together Foundation, I am dedicated to ensuring more child have the opportunity to discover and benefit from music. Together, we can create a brighter, more harmonious future.
